At Tough Love Equestrian, we believe that every horse deserves the freedom to graze, move, and socialise naturally, even if they have to have a restricted consumption of grass.

Tough Love Equestrian was created in honour of our beloved pony, Paddy. Paddy was a much-loved part of our family and spent many years representing Essex Hunt North Pony Club in One Day Events, the Gosling Cup, and dressage teams. His name appeared on team cups and trophies, and he brought us countless happy memories.

When Paddy developed EMS, he also struggled with bouts of laminitis. With guidance from our vet, we learned how important it was to carefully manage his grass intake to keep him healthy. It wasn’t always easy, but sticking to his routine was essential, true “tough love.”

Our experience with Paddy is the inspiration behind us wanting to create a safe, health-first grazing restrictor that helps owners manage their horses’ needs with confidence. Our new muzzle is designed with that same goal in mind: making it easier to do what’s best for the horses we care so much about.
